আশ্বিন বাংলা সংস্কৃতির সবচেয়ে উজ্জ্বল মাসগুলোর একটি। দুর্গাপূজা, মহালয়া ও শারদীয় উৎসব এই মাসে মূল শিখর। Ashwin is among the brightest months in Bengali culture—Durga Puja, Mahalaya, and Sharadiya festivals peak here.
নামের অর্থMeaning of the name
অশ্বিন নক্ষত্র থেকে। ‘অশ্ব’ (ঘোড়া) – সূর্যের সঙ্গে প্রাচীন জ্যোতির্বিদ্যায় সম্পর্ক।From the Ashwini asterism; ashva (horse) ties to ancient solar astronomy.

ঐতিহাসিক গুরুত্বHistorical importance
১৯০৫-এর বঙ্গভঙ্গ-পরবর্তী Puja cultural nationalism-এর মঞ্চ হয়। আজও দুর্গোৎসব বাংলার সবচেয়ে বড় সামাজিক উৎসব।After the 1905 Partition, Puja became a stage for cultural nationalism. Durga Puja remains Bengal’s largest social festival.
‘মা আসছেন…’ — মহালয়ার মন্ত্রে আশ্বিনের সকাল ভেঙে পড়ে।“Ma is coming…” — Mahalaya chants break Ashwin’s dawn.
